I wrote once before about a cute little book Stella's godparents gave to her:
I don't think I've actually read the book to Stella yet, but recently, I keep finding it in her bed in the morning or after naptime, so I can tell she's become interested in it.
Last night, while I was putting her to bed, she noticed the opened book lying on the floor. She pointed to it yelling "guy! guy!" until I handed it to her. She then proceeded to kiss the page, and I'm *pretty* certain she was kissing Mr. Darcy.
What can I say? She has good taste in literary men :-D

FYI: I'm not in labor yet. I'm trying not to be too disappointed.
That is so cute. I recently saw these for sale at Costco so I got some for my 2 year old for her birthday. She loves Wuthering Heights the most, but we have a few others as well. It's fun to joke "she already Wuthering Heights memorized" since she can read the main words aloud to herself on that one. ;-) Not sure my daughter has as much good taste as yours though. She's fairly obsessed with the illustration of Queequeg in the Moby Dick Ocean Primer. Not that I've seen her kissing it, but she always gets really excited and points to his picture and ignores the other sailors. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHmm...I'll have to keep an eye out for some of the others in the series :-)
DeleteI was really hoping you were going to have a baby announcement. Try not to feel too disappointed. Third babies seem to have their own agenda and do things in their own time. We have the A Christmas Carol Baby Lit book. While my toddler hasn't shown much interest in the book in the year and a half that we've had it I find it amusing.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. That, is awesome. (We have Jane Eyre ... which Michael used to love ... he seems to have forgotten about it though.)
ReplyDeleteCrossing fingers for a baby soon! :)
Raising. Her. Right.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, she totally wins the prize for best baby!
We love these books! My favorite is Pride and Prejudice but my kids favorite is The Christmas Carol. We have purchased most of them b/c I like to give books as baby presents (no one seems to need clothes much and the babies grow out of them so quickly anyway) and I always like flipping through them before I give them away.
ReplyDeleteTry not thinking about labor and maybe then it will start? (haha, that's a joke, no woman can just stop thinking about it.) But seriously, hope it's soon.
Well, I was going to get Stella Wuthering Heights for her next birthday, but what if she starts kissing Heathcliff? Sweet girls always go for them bad boys...
ReplyDeleteSo glad baby has turned! Alcuin didn't turn and that didn't end so well. I'll say a prayer that he comes soon!
Ugh. She'd better not be kissing Heathcliff! He really ticked me off when I read it back in high school!
